做一番大事

繼‘愛在四月天，幸福一整年’的影片紀錄，昨天我又發現一個令我感動不已的台灣電台DJ,演藝人員吳建恆的見証分享。在我看來，台灣演藝圈真處於福音全盛時期。



年輕時對流行文化有著很強烈的批判，總是認為基督徒應該保持距離。近幾年來開始發現這個觀念並不實際，唯有擁抱流行文化才能發揮福音的功效。這幾天接觸的台灣演藝發展說服我這才是分享信仰的最佳管道。這一班藝人基本上就是把信仰帶入工作，生活裡。利用身為公眾人物的力量，勇敢把信仰承載生命的力量發揮與見証。確實需要很大的勇氣和毅力，但如果有一班同路人，再加上天的恩典，即使過程再難熬，再艱辛畢竟也是沒有白活，給自己留個美好回憶。

曾聽說這麼一句話‘大部分生意都很了解客戶的需要，但往往不知道為何非客戶拒絕買單’這話確有其道理。如今教會不也都如此 - 為基督徒做許多的牧養，裝備，卻不了解為何非信徒不踏足教會，為他們做出更必要的改變和調整。

身為英國華人基督徒，我為此做了許多的思考，但沒有任何的方案。回想看過的見証分享，我隻能說謙卑尋求，甘於降服，必然重新得力，活得精彩。

期盼我們放下自尊，知識，才干，本領，合一在這片土地做一番大事。

Just one of the highlights of the Easter Event 愛在四月天 祝福一整年. A genuine breakthrough in Taiwan's entertainment industry, well over 100 Christian artists not ashame of the gospel and step forward to participate in this event in unity. Apart from stage performance & sharing, majority of them served as ushers!!!

In this video Eric Moo presented a song he wrote about the cross while live sand drawing about Jesus' life was on the background - most amazing piece of art that was!

I'm seriously thinking to make a trip to Taiwan next Easter to witness the power of evangelism through media & pop culture. Next year going to be held at 小巨蛋, another step of faith for greater glory of God.

ba don't allow me to change flight without hefty penalty so here i am blogging. still have to wait for another 2 hours.

youth winter conference last month was a turning point for my christian life, after many years. ever since i return, the prompting deep within has never eased. on the contrary the momentum keep building, even after 1 month. i have not experienced something like this before, not even the heights of my christian life in youth fellowship back in KL. i trust God is going to do something great among the youths. it's a matter of keeping the momentum going: get a proper team with good mix of people in place to drive things forward, dare to dream of the impossible, spread the fire around and gets everyone moving.

ultimately it works only if each and everyone learns to rely on God. in other words learns to empty ourselves, strip ourselves bare and ask God to work through us each and everyday.

tonight there will be 5 of us gather for prayer with primary focus on outreach and youths. small group of 5 to commit meeting fortnightly for focus prayers. a step of faith. remember, the best is yet to come.

food

italy hasn't let me down so far. i mean italian food.

i'm not exagerating but every single restaurant i've been to serves excellent pasta, pizza and coffee. that's explain why there are no presence of Pizza Hut, Domino's or Starbucks in this place; they simply won't survive.

on the contrary my experience as tourist some years ago was pretty disappointing, just stay away from touristy spot for decent italian cuisine next time round!

Chee's Prophecy Fulfilled

Almost 14 months ago I blogged about Google Chrome under the title 'A non-IT trained PC user's thoughts on Google ' and its potential to become the core components of a new operating system.

Today, my prophecy is fulfilled - Google previews Chrome open source operating system.

I'm very positive about this development although the biggest challenge seems to be moving away from traditional hard disk to cloud computing.

As always I have faith in Google. I'll probably get the first generation Chrome OS netbook!

Final Countdown

My stint in Germany is coming to an end in 2 weeks. It’s a shame I didn’t spend enough time to know the place. For instance pork knuckle is a type of Bavarian food, which means locals from Frankfurt don’t usually regard them as German specialty. Frankfurt and surrounding areas are famous for wine and vineyard but haven’t even been to local wine bar once!

Contrary to English working culture, German colleagues never start a conversation with “How’s your weekend?”, “How’s things?”, “How are you?”, instead they go straight to the topic. Quite good in a way but works place feels too serious at times.

Walking along the corridor almost everyone smiles and greets each other. I will keep this in memory.

Staff canteen serves excellent food that is good value for money - 3 courses meal for 3 EUR.

Next stop will be Milan, Italy. Everyone says Italy is great except work.

flight arrangement is confirmed going home this Christmas.

thanks to MAS for their GET-A-DEAL offer. it's even cheaper than a month ago fortunately (when i thought i've missed the deal from Etihad!) and the added bonus is direct flight on the return leg.
